I spent my first week back at the mine, spending my lunchtime in the pit getting reacquainted with the guys. I spent time talking with the overseer, trying to get his approval for working in the pit. He said he would welcome my working there, that I had a great influence the last time I worked in the pit.
Jumah, who I could never get close to in the past, is always around me now. He manages to get his cock in my face or up against me quite often, and I’m sure he’s doing it intentionally. He is very friendly now, and is always smiling at me. I want to be friendly with him, but he makes me feel uncomfortable.
I have a special connection with Kwaku and Dauda, since we were togeather at the auction compound and then at Master Ansah’s mine. I hope to spend more time with them, and learn about there time at Ansah’s mine.
I have the doctor’s approval and the approval of the overseer, to return to work in the mining pit. So I just need for Araway to give me the go ahead, and I can start work in the mine pit.
Saturday after returning from the mine, I help Orsty get the evening meal ready. While we were eating our meal, I brought up the subject of working in the pit. I pointed out that I had the doctor’s approval, as well as that of the overseer. Araway said he had no objection, since every one had no problem with my working. I was now all set to start work at the mine on Monday, and was really looking forward to getting to work with my friends.
Sunday I spent taking it easy, so I would be rested for Monday morning. Orsty and I spent time talking, and laughing about our stay at the hotel. He says he’s going to use the hotel card, when he takes me back to the Capital for my flight home. I told him if he did, I would put on a show to really embarrass him.
Sunday Orsty fried chicken, and we had all the fixings to go with the chicken. I enjoyed the meal, and the second round that evening. I helped Orsty clean up the kitchen, then went in and took my shower. I relaxed on the back porch with Orsty for about an hour, then went to bed.
