Orsty and I discussed how we would break the news to Araway, that we had bought Dellevi at the slave auction. I finally told Orsty that I would break the news to Araway, and he didn’t need to face Araway. I thought it would be best to let Araway take his anger out on me, since I was his friend and didn’t work for him. Hopefully Araway’s anger would subside before he had contact with Orsty. Orsty was happy to let me take the first wrath from Araway.
We got home early that evening and cleaned up, before prepairing the evening meal. At the meal Araway ask us how my wrestling with Ospee went, and I told him I didn’t wrestle with Ospee. I told him Ospee wasn’t there, and that Orsty and I had gone on a trip. I told him I would tell him all about our trip after our meal. He seemed satisfied and we finished our meal.
After we finished the evening meal, I told Araway I would like to talk with him in his office. He gave me a strange look and said fine, then we went to his office. After I entered I closed the door, Araway noticed my actions, and ask if there was a problem. I told him I hoped not, but that I had something to tell him that might be upsetting. He sat down at his desk, and said he was ready for my story.
I proceeded to tell him about my talking Orsty into taking me to the slave auction. I told him about showing Orsty all the places I was kept, and all the places where I went through preparation as a slave. I then told him about showing Orsty the auction platform where I was sold. He looked at me and ask where this was all leading. I told him we stayed for the auction, and something happened while we watched the auction.
Araway let out with a “oh no” you didn’t take part again? I told him not exactly, not in that way. I ask him if he remembered me telling him about the three slave’s that I had made friends with at the compound? He said yes, that he knew Kwaku and Dauda were the ones. I yes, but there were three, and the third was named Dellevi. I told him that while Orsty and I were watching the auction, that I noticed Dellevi on the platform.
I took a pause to get my breath, before going further. Araway looked a little puzzled, then ask what happened after seeing Dellevi? I cleared my throat and started to tell what happened next. I told Araway I had talked Orsty into buying Dellevi, and that I would give him the money. Araway just sat there looking at me, then he started to laugh.
When he stopped laughing, he said I guess you want to bring him to the mine, so he can be with Kwaku and Dauda. I told him I hopped that would be possible, and he would be part of the workforce. Araway said he was willing to give it a try, but if there were any problems Dellevi would have to go.
He then ask me why Dellevi had been returned for sale again? I had to admit, that I had no idea why he was returned. Araway then commented, that he hopped Dellevi was not a trouble maker. I then ask Araway not to be upset with Orsty, that I had pleaded with him to buy Dellevi. I told him I had promised Orsty that I would clear things with him, so that Orsty wouldn’t be held responsible.
I went out and told Orsty that I had cleared everything with Araway, and he was not being held responsible for my actions. Orsty gave me a hug, then ask how the news went with Araway? I told him Araway laughed and said he would give it a try, but that if things didn’t work it would be back to the auction for Dellevi.
I then helped Orsty finish cleaning up the kitchen, then went to my room for a shower.
