I got up the next day, and got ready for breakfast. I was missing Kofi, so I just sat by myself for breakfast. I did speak if someone spoke, or ask about Kofi.

I went to my work station, and started work with my new partner. We talked a little bit, but I wasn’t really in the mood to talk. I worked there, wondering what Kofi was doing, and what his new life would be like. The overseer came over to see how things were going, and we both said fine, no problem. We continued on with our work, until time for lunch.

I went to clean up, and got my food, and found a place to sit. I was glad no one had decided to sir with me, and ask a bunch of questions. I finally saw Alowdme, and he was dressed in his uniform. I was hoping he would come over, and give me some news about Kofi. He just kept on walking, not paying any attention to me.

True he is friendly when we workout together, but he’s not a friend in the normal since. He still thinks of me as a slave, and I have to show respect, and follow the rules and his orders. I have to help with his workout, and to help with his shower. I first help with his shower, on my own, when he was having trouble with the sponge. Now it’s part of my duty as a slave, and I have to do whatever he commands.

I went back to work, and didn’t do much talking, which seemed to be fine with my partner. He leaves me alone, knowing how I feel about loosing Kofi. Guess he will start talking later, after I’ve had time to recover. I was glad when mealtime came around, I was starting to get tired of working, with no joy.

I went to wash up and get my food, then sat down away from the others. The overseer came over, and told me I would be helping Alowdme this evening. I was glad to hear that, because I hoped to hear something about Kofi. I finished my meal, then just sat there waiting on Alowdme,

After the other had left for their showers, Alowdme came for me. We went to the equipment locker, and got the things out, that we would be using. We started out working easy, then got the heavy stuff. I had to work as Alowdme’s spotter, and make sure everything went smoothly. When my turn came, Alowdme served as my spotter.

We talked while we worked out, and I learned that Kofi was at his uncle’s cocoa plantation. He was there to learn how things worked, and to start learning the business. I learned that the papers had all been signed, and that Kofi had been adopted by his uncle. Kofi can now carry on the family name of his mother, and forget about his dead and abusive father..

We finished our workouts, and put all the equipment away. We then went for our showers, and I soaped and washed Alowdme. I washed the soap off, and as Alowdme was getting dressed, I took my shower.

I was then taken to the slave quarters, and locked in for the night. I got my mat down, then lay down to sleep. I lay there for awhile, thinking about Kofi, and how lucky he was. I then fell asleep.
