My German Lover Part 13, chapter 1

(Part 3 from 3. Fiction.)

Of course, before leaving, Paul went on a shopping spree and bought Christmas presents for every member of Will's family, as well as for Lutz and Franz...

He spent a lot of time shopping for Will's present and in the end, he found what he was looking for! In fact, he bought two presents for Will: One he would give to him in Berlin, with the rest of his family, and the real one he would give to his lover before they leave for Christmas.

Will called his family to let them know about their visit... and they were all ecstatic about seeing Will soon and meeting his new friend they had heard so much about... Will's mother was a bit nervous about having Paul as a guest, since she knew he was from a very rich family. Will had to calm her down, explaining Paul was a very simple guy that didn't care much about fancy celebrations... and that his French friend was so happy to be able to spend Christmas with them since otherwise, he would have been all alone in Paris, his family being in New-York! Will's mother felt sorry for Paul, hearing about that, and she told her son that Paul would be most welcome amongst them...

No need to say Lutz's family and his girlfriend were all ecstatic too, learning they would soon be able to spend some good time with "their" Lutz!

On Saturday, Demember 14, Will and Paul were having breakfast when Will asked his lover:

"Where are we going to put the Christmas tree?"

"What Christmas tree?... What do you mean?"

"... Well, you know... The Christmas tree...", Will replied, looking at Paul...

"Huh?"

Seeing Paul didn't know what he was talking about, Will explained to him that in Germany, around Christmas time, people would put a fir-tree somewhere in their house and they would decorate it with lights and all kind of trimmings... No such tradition really existed in France at the time.

"You mean you want us to put a fir-tree INSIDE the house? Are you kidding me or what?", Paul answered, laughing...

"Yes yes... and we could invite Lutz and Franz and we could have a lot of fun decorating the tree...", Will answered, all excited...

Paul looked at his lover: Will's blue eyes were sparkling with joy and excitement! How could he resist his blond haired lover? Obviously, Will was excited as a child, thinking about decorating a Christmas tree!

"That would make you happy, huh?", Paul asked, still laughing...

"YUP!... It's not Christmas without a Christmas tree...", Will answered, grinning!

"Okay okay! But where the hell are we going to get a fir-tree? And what about the trimmings? Have you thought about that, mister wise guy?", Paul asked, grinning...

"...You have lots of fir-trees at Bagatelle... We could go there and cut a nice one! And I'm sure that, with all the German soldiers and officers in Paris... some stores must know about our tradition, and they must be selling all the trimmings we need..."

Paul looked at the ceiling in discouragement! But he knew he couldn't refuse anything to the gorgeous hunk smiling at him, so he asked:

"You, silly! So, what do we get first: The tree or the trimmings?"

"The trimmings, of course: No trimmings, no Christmas tree!", Will answered, laughing...

"Okay... Let's finish our breakfast, and then we could go to Galeries Lafayette to see if we can find some Christmas trimmings there... If they don't sell that kind of ornaments over there, then no one else does!" Paul answered, smiling. "And call Lutz and Franz... to see if they want to come to Bagatelle tomorrow to get <Y O U R> tree!"

It didn't take long before Will had everything organized!

At Galleries Lafayette, they found the Christmas lights and all the trimmings they needed...

"When I think you want to put those lights on a tree! We're going to burn the mansion down!", Paul said, laughing...

"Nah!", Will answered, laughing his heart out...

The day after, very early in the morning, Lutz and Franz arrived and they all drove to Bagatelle to get the tree.

Driving back to Paris with a very large fir-tree tied to the top of the car, Paul said to his friends:

"You're crazy... all of you! When I think gas is as rare as gold... I can't believe we're spending some just to get a ... tree..."

They all laughed, knowing perfectly well that indeed, they were privileged...

Later, they were all back on Avenue Foch, and the tree was put in the drawing-room... far from the fireplace, as Paul had demanded!

They had a lot of fun, putting the lights then the trimmings on the Christmas tree...

When the job was finished, Will said:

"Now, let's turn all the lights off... and let's light the tree!"

Paul had to admit the result was stunning...

"It's beatiful Will" he said... "Really!"

Madame Louise and her husband monsieur Pierre were invited to join the party and they were impressed....

"I've heard about such a tradition in Germany... But I didn't know you also had that same tradition in Alsace", monsieur Pierre said to Will and Lutz...

"Oh yes... Christmas trees are very popular in Alsace too ...", Will convincingly answered.

"I've never seen such a beatiful Christmas tree!", Lutz said...

"Me neither...", Franz added.

Paul had a very satisfied smile on his face: When Will had suggested they buy just a few lights and some trimmings, Paul had bought almost everything they had on sale at Galleries Lafayette! Like always, he had not spare money!

"Do you like it Will?", Paul asked his lover...

"It's beatiful... I've never dreamed of such a beatiful Christmas tree..."

Paul smiled, thinking that it was a bit ironical to see two big, strong German soldiers like Will and Lutz, being so excited by a simple Christmas tree!

Later that night, after all the guests had left, Will kissed Paul very tenderly and they made love passionnately...

Later, Will said:

"Thanks Paul... You don't know how much you made me happy...".

"If it only takes a Christmas tree to make you happy... it doesn't take much!", Paul answered, with a tender simle.

"Oh but it does! It reminds me of my family in Berlin... when I was a kid..."

"Oh but you're gonna be there soon...", Paul answered.

"Yeah! And thanks to you again..."

That night, Paul gave Will the Christmas present he had bought for him: A very beatiful golden watch from Bulova!

And here's my gift to you...", Will said, as in turn, he presented a small box to Paul.

"What is it?", Paul asked, all excited.

"Ah! You're gonna have to unwrapt it..."

So Paul went through the wrapping paper like a madman, then opened the small box and found two identical golden rings into it.

"I told you last summer I was marring you, remember? Now, we have our wedding rings! In Germany, a married man wears his wedding ring on his right hand, while in France, you wear it on your left hand. So I suggest you wear yours on your right hand, like we do in Germany, so it will mean to me we are married... and I'll wear mine on my right hand, like you do in France, and so it will mean I'm married to you... What do you think?"

Paul had tears in his eyes. He took a ring and placed it on Will's right hand. Then Will took the other ring, and placed it on Paul's left hand...

"I marry you again my love!", Will said, kissing Paul.

"And I marry you Will. I shall be true to you till the end of my life!"

"So will I", Will answered.

After a long night, making love again, Will and Paul finally went to sleep.

That night, Paul's sleep was a bit agitated though, as he was rather apprehensive about his next trip to Berlin. How would he be greeted by Will's family? After all, he was a complete stranger to them! Would his "friendship" to Will looks suspicious to them? Would he be thrown out of their house, sould they ever discoverer the truth? And what about that goddamn party at the Chancellery... Paul wished he wouldn't have to go! That made him sick, just thinking he had to go there...

Soon enough... too soon for Paul... the departure day arrived: Monsieur Pierre drove Paul, Will and Lutz to the Bourget airport, where their private airplane and their pilot were waiting for them...

"What's that?", Will asked, looking at a few crates...

"Champagne and wine!", Paul answered, grinning...

"Three crates? Are you crazy?"

"Well, one crate will be delivered to Herr Funk, the Reich Minister... to thank him for his <NICE> invitation! The second crate is for Lutz's family... and the third one is for your family!"

"They will be embassas, you know...", Will answered.

"... At first, maybe... But believe me, after a few sips of Champagne, they will no longer be...", Paul replied, laughing...

The pilot from the Luftwaffe walked to them and introduced himself:

"I'm leutnant Kurt Weiner, at your service, Sir!"

"Good morning leutnant", Paul answered, smiling at him.

Then leutnant Weiner saluted Will and Lutz, knowing by the uniforms they were wearing they were Wehrmacht officers...

Of course, Will and Lutz had waited until monsieur Pierre had left the airport before changing into their uniforms...

"Of course, Sir, this is going to be a direct flight to Tempelhof...", the pilot said to Paul.

"That's the name of the airport in Berlin", Will said to Paul, grinning.

"Oh!", Paul answered. "I didn't know that..."

"We have a beatiful day today, so our trip should go very smoothly. Don't worry, Sir!"

"We have total confidence in you!", Paul answered. "And please, call me Paul... I'm younger than you are, so... And those two clowns over there are Will and Lutz..."

The pilot smiled at them, showing perfect white teeth, and answered:

"Fine with me, as long as you call me Kurt..."

"Fine!", the three friends answered.

They boarded the plane, and Kurt went to the cockpit, where he started the engines.

The three friends were a bit apprenhensive, since they were all flying for the first time! However, as soon as the plane had taken off, they all started to relax... and after a while, they were smiling from one ear to the other!

"Get ready Berlin: Here we come!", Paul shouted, laughing!

"Yup!", Will and Lutz answered, laughing too!
