The Long Mile Shot IV - Breakfast

(Part 3 from 5. Fiction.)

When they were driving to school, Sean finally asked,

“What’s the deal with this weekend?”

“It’s an auction my mom volunteered to help out with three years ago that’s in LA. It’s an auction that raises money for homeless shelters and food and stuff like that.”

“Well what’s bad about that?” Sean asked confused, not knowing why Jake wouldn’t help.

“Sean, don’t take this the wrong way, but you don’t know the people that go to stuff like this auction. Their fucking animals and will rip you apart. We have to set all the stuff up and walk some of the stuff around and show people what their buying. Just tell my mom something came up. Trust me!”

“I’m not going to lie to your mom Jake. If you can handle it, I can handle it.” Sean reassured.

“Sean, my dearest, sweetest love! This auction will suck the life blood out of you and leave you on the side of the road for the ants, but if you think you can handle it, then I’ll be there for ya.” Jake said and continued to school.

“Shit! Now I have to park in the back of the parking lot because you wouldn’t wake up.”

“You were the one who fucked me in the shower.” Sean snapped back.

Jake finally parked and gave his boyfriend a kiss before they got out and went to another day of school. That week went by fast. Both had a couple test’s and both studied at their own houses because if they didn’t, they knew they would be all over each other and would never get any studying done. Even before, both school boys would do homework in separate rooms because one would always just blankly stare at the other until he would acknowledge him. And this was before they had sex! Now Jake wouldn’t even be able to get his name on his paper before Sean gave him a sexy smirk that begged him to,

“FUCK THE EVER LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME RIGHT NOW!”

Of which that was exactly what Sean did on Monday afternoon when they tried to study. Jake got a total of about an hour of studying done that night. Though neither Jake nor Sean fucked the other, they spent countless hours exploring each others bodies. On Tuesday, Jake had Collin take Sean home with a plan that after studying, Jake would pick Sean up.

“You better get used to studying in the same house as each other soon, or your going to have some problems” Sean’s mom Glenna said when Jake picked Sean up to stay at his house.

Sean stayed at Jake’s every night that week. Jake also fucked Sean every night and then they gave each other forced orgasms in the morning. Both were pleasantly pleased that Sean’s nausea didn’t come back up unless Jake went over twenty minutes of hammering into Sean. Sean’s parents couldn’t really say no to their son wanting to stay over at his boyfriends, especially when Sean made the argument of,

“Jake’s parents don’t hear us fuck all night long!”

Friday finally came and Sean and the Carpenter family flew out to LA to help at the auction. To Jake and his father’s utter happiness, they did not have to help. Both were ecstatic that they could just watch the fiasco unfold. As they were getting ready, Sean was having such a hard time with his tuxedo; he had to get Jake to help him with the cuff links and tie. As Jake was tying Sean’s black bow tie, Lisa took a picture.

“How cute! I remember when I first had to help Jake with his tie when he was a kid. I remember telling him ‘the happiest moment of a mothers life is when she helps her son with his tie”

“Thanks mom, I really needed that,” Sean said frowning at Lisa,

“She’s right babe, except I’m not your mom, I’m your boyfriend, and I’m going to rip that thing off you when we get back to our room!”

Jake grinned and kissed Sean as he finished his tie and left to the auction. When they arrived at the Golden Olympic ballroom, Sean was taken back at the spectacle and people. He knew he was out of place, but just followed what Jake told him to do. He was amazed how Jake handled himself with people; he expected it out of Jakes parents but somehow forgot Jake had grown up in a different world. Jake was so elegant and calm, talking to people twice his age; full with a great deal of confidence and self esteem.

“This must be your first time.” Somebody said behind Sean when Jake was away getting them drinks.

“Excuse me?” Sean turned around and asked.

“The first time you’ve ever been a banquet hall like this. Your first time! I’m not giving you a hard time, I was just pointing something out. Jeff Smith’s the name” The overly talkative teenager said as he put out his hand.

“Sean McCormack, nice to meet you Jeff.” Sean cautiously said as he shook his hand.

“Nice to meet you Sean.” Jeff responded.

“Yea, this is my first time to an event like this. How’d you know?” Sean asked,

“The way you look at people. You look and try to figure out stuff about them, and only first timers do that.” Jeff pointed out.

“O, sorry” Sean said as if he did something bad.

“O no need to be sorry, most people here are just here to make an image for themselves, showing that they have money and want to help out the needy. Most of them are fakes and don’t give a shit though. They look for the important people and try to get into their circle. Like those people over their talking to the lady in the blue with the kid next to her.” Jeff pointed over at the Carpenter’s, but before Sean could say anything Jeff went on. “See the people on the left, (not the Carpenters) their some people who more then likely have money and think their important, but really they don’t mean shit. 98% of the people here are like that, rich bitches who are just here to make themselves look important and try to make an image for themselves. They aren’t here for the real reason of trying to help people.” Jeff paused as Sean looked over at him.

Jeff looked like he was in his mid teens, had dark brown spiked hair with a mature, older looking face with distinctive signs of facial hair. To compliment the out going teenager were dark hazel brown eyes that were always keeping track of their surroundings. Sean could tell how his tuxedo fit, he was well toned and by the simply things Jake had told him, was also an expensive Tuxedo that you can’t rent. He had a nice strong voice like Jake, very comfortable with what he said, but seemed like sometimes he didn’t think before talking. A normal hot guy on the street that would cause people to turn their heads Sean categorized him. Jeff could tell Sean was analyzing him, assuming he was one of the 98% of the people he was talking shit about.

“I should probably defend myself on this one. I don’t actually fit into that 100%. I’m not really rich like all these people. My parents are both teachers and my mom helps out with organizing this thing every year. I usually have to help but this year I don’t. Thank god too! If you’re ever asked to volunteer for a fundraiser in Los Angeles, say no because it will suck the life blood out of you and leave you on the side of the road for the ants. Trust me!”

Sean smiled at the statement, but for some reason thought that he had heard that same phrase recently. Sean somehow felt relaxed talking to Jeff, and though not trying to act arrogant; he continued to play dumb in the means of getting more information on his boyfriend’s life from an outside source.

“So Jeff, what can you tell me about those people, the lady in the blue with the kid next to her.” Sean pointed to the Carpenters.

“The Carpenter family?” Jeff shook his head in approval. “Well they’re the top of the 2% of people who actually give a damn. Outside of this setting their just normal, everyday people. The lady in the blue actually was the one who got my mom involved when it was first started. Their really nice, genuine people and will always help anybody if they can. And trust me, they always can. They are by far one of, or are the, richest people here. You would never know it though if you just saw them walking around. They’re the people that the sleazy assholes try to get close to because they’re the ones that have connections all over the world.” Jeff concluded by making a huge circle with his hands.

“What about the guy next to her?” Sean asked trying to get another’s perspective on Jake.

“Jake…Jake’s a really good guy. He’s nice, funny, caring, loving, passionate, somewhat crazy when it comes to guns, and is just an all around perfect guy. Minus the fact something happened to him when he was a kid that haunts him sometimes. He always puts it off as nothing but when you get closer to him, you know how to read him a little. He’s definitely one of those people that you pray to be in a relationship with, but when it seems like it’s all perfect, he moves. He’s moved so much in his life, it’s kind of fucked him up because he doesn’t have many friends and scares people because they think he’s some type of killer for always wearing a bullet proof vest.”

Jeff sighed looking over at Jake. Sean didn’t pick up that Jeff was sighing the exact same way he did when Jake also left him for two months.

“I’ve missed him so much; I haven’t seen him since he moved to Texas over the summer. God I fucking hate him for moving like that. We were good friends and he just picked up and left. I know it was because of his mom wanting to move back to her home town and not work so much, but I mean fucking bitch! He just left as if he was going on vacation and was going to be back in a week.”

Jeff let out another sigh that Sean still didn’t recognize because he was running what Jeff was saying through his head. Jeff really did know Jake, Sean thought to himself.

“You know he’s actually gay? Yea I would have never known it either until he tried to kiss me after school that horny little bitch.” Jeff had a mild harsh voice not caring who he was telling this story to. And as if Sean was talking to Danny or Collin, he was not fazed by Jeff’s openness. “He gave the best massages! God I can’t fucking believe he moved to fucking Texas of all places.”

Jeff again said in a harsh voice that Sean finally picked up. Like a light went on, the situation clicked. Jeff was Jake’s old boyfriend from San Diego that he left quickly. That’s how he knew the organizer. He dated Jake and Lisa got Jeff’s mom to help with everything. Sean was in utter shock at how small a world he lived in. He was just about to speak up to defend Jake but Jeff beat him.

“So what about you? Why are you here?” Jeff asked forcing Sean to answer and keep his remarks down.

“Well I got asked to help work this thing before I knew what it was. So I’m right there with ya, glad we don’t have to do anything.” Sean responded as he saw Jake leave his parents and started walking over to them.

“So where are you from? Who asked you to work here? Pretty much only the organizers ask for help from people they know.”

“Well I’m from Texas and,” Sean started but was cut off by Jake.

“Jeff, is that you? You got dragged down here too? God I haven’t seen you in months.” Jake walked over to them with two glasses of champagne.

“Hey Jake, mate! I haven’t seen you in months. Luck of the draw not actually having to work this thing hey?” Jeff said with a slightly nervous tone.

“Seriously, dude.” Jake leaned in to give Jeff a hug, still holding a champagne glass in both hands. He then gave Jeff a quick kiss on the cheek that Sean didn’t notice, but which caught Jeff off guard.

“Wow friendly like always I see.” Jeff said as they both pulled away from the hug.

Jake handed Sean his glass of champagne and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Sean usually kept his eyes opened when Jake kissed him, but because Jeff was looking into his eyes while Jake was kissing him, he closed them. Sean didn’t want to know what Jeff’s eyes were portraying.

“Sorry I took so long babe, I had to talk to my parents.” Jake said; realizing Sean had closed his eyes for some reason.

“It’s ok; Jeff and I were just talking about you.”

“Sean, don’t believe everything he says, Jeff over here loves to make stuff up.” Jake laughed and continued, “He’s a good guy though. We actually dated when I lived in San Diego, that’s how our parents met. I told you that right?” Jake tilted his head and gave Sean a mildly annoyed look. Sean looked down at the floor because of what he knew was coming up.

“Sean did he say anything about us dating?” Jake asked staring directly into Jeff’s eyes.

“Jake, I didn’t say anything; I said we were good friends that’s it!” Jeff reassured, worried how he had just talked shit about Jake to his boyfriend.

“I just hope, for his sake, you won’t leave him!” Jeff added.

Sean took a step back as he saw Jake’s face loose its boyish charm and took on a serious, nearly angered portrait.

“Jeff, you knew I had to leave! Don’t bring that shit up again, especially here!” Jake indicated as Sean took another step back, trying to make himself sparse.

Jake took heed of Sean’s actions and walked over to stand next to his boyfriend, not caring what Jeff would do.

“How’s the Champagne, Sean? Sorry it took so long.” Jake said as he sipped his glass and both looked back, at a now frustrated Jeff.

“Jeff I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I knew him before.” Sean said breaking an awkward silence.

“O no worries dude, it didn’t get brought up, no worries. So you two are dating?” Jeff asked.

“Yea, for two and half months now.” Sean replied, still not caring about the two months he didn’t speak to Jake.

“Jeff let’s go outside and talk.” Jake insisted, trying to avoid any type of problems that could arise from his frustrated ex-boyfriend meeting his new innocent boyfriend.

Jeff turned around and walked towards the door quickly. Just as Jeff turned his face though, Jake could make out Jeff was beginning to cry.

“I’m sorry about this babe, wait here. I’ll be back in a minute, ok?” Jake asked, not wanting to leave Sean high and dry by himself while he was off with his ex-boyfriend.

“Yea, it’s fine Jake. I can manage on my own for awhile. Now go help him out, I know he’s still your friend.” Sean said in the most motherly, tender loving voice that showed not an ounce of annoyance or jealousy.

Jake kissed Sean on the cheek and left to follow Jeff outside. Sean stood there for a while, wondering what he was going to do when finally somebody came up to him, it was Lisa.
