Undead Love : Part 2

“WHOA” I scream and Adam looks up at me with his blue eyes. I start screaming and pointing at Adam and the dog. Adam drops the large dog and takes a step towards me. “WHOOOOA” I scream again and run to the house. In my fear I forget two things. One I forget to close the back door so Adam couldn’t come in. Second the kitchen is the last room to the back yard and I pass it without taking a knife. Adam comes into the kitchen with unnatural speed. I run into the living room and trip on the couch. I quickly get up and fumble around to the other side. Even though I have a good lay out of the house I couldn’t for the life of me find the front door. I pick up two candle holders as my back is against the living room wall. I make a cross and hold it out in front of me to Adam. “Stay away…you just stay away” I say to Adam as he is in front of me. The couch is the only thing that is separating us.

I really couldn’t think straight I can’t believe what I just saw. “Joe please let me explain” Adam says to me with the bottom of his mouth covered in the dog’s blood. “No just stay away….SOMEONE HELP ME” I scream hoping someone would hear me. “Joe please” Adam says with his blue eyes. “Was this the plan the whole time? Fattening me up so you can eat me” I say with my candle stick cross in between us. “Joe how can you say that” Adam says trying to take a step forward. “I am just a little freaked out right now so….” I couldn’t finish the sentence so many things were going through my head.

“Joe” Adam says my name with the gentles tone and bringing me back from my thoughts. “Think about it Joe if I wanted to hurt you I would have done it a long time ago” Adam says taking a step back. For some reason he was right and I started to believe him but it wasn’t enough. “I know this must be very shocking and I didn’t mean for you to find out that I am a vampire this way” Adam says taking another step back. “Please Joe come with me we can talk about it by the pool…please Joe” Adam says taking another step back giving me room. My breathing calms down and I slowly lower my candle stick cross. I then look at the blood that’s on the bottom of his lip. “Let me get cleaned up and ill meet you out by the pool” Adam says taking off his shirt and walking into his room. I had every reason to just leave, run right out of the room and leave. But for some reason I started walking out into the back yard.

I sit by the pool in the long beach chairs. The moon was full and high above in the sky. Adam comes through the glass sliding door. Adam sits down on the chair but is facing me while I am looking at the pool. “I guess coming out and saying that I am a vampire is already said and done huh” Adam says smiling at me. I didn’t laugh or even smile I just stay looking at the pool. “Joe I really am sorry that you had to find out about me like that. I wanted to tell you but I couldn’t find the right time to say it” Adam says looking down at his feet. To some extent Adam was right it’s not like it’s in every conversation. How could Adam tell me he was a vampire what would he say ‘hey Joe guess what? I am a vampire’ I guess I couldn’t hold it against him. I take my eyes off of the pool and stare at Adam. “Well I guess I could have gotten a warning or something” I say kind of smiling. Adam looks up and his piercing dark blue eyes stare at me.

“Can I ask you a question?” I say bringing my knees up to my chin. “You can ask me as many questions as you like” Adam says with a gentle tone. “The man that attack me…was he a vampire too” I say looking at Adam. Adam’s face hardens and his eyes are blue. “Yes” Adam says after a while. “Is he coming for me?” I say kind of nervous for the answer. “Not while you’re at my side” Adam says as his piercing dark blue eyes come back. I stare at him for a while knowing that I can’t really go home without that vampire out there. We stay silent for a while both of us sorting out what needs to be said.

“Do your eyes change color depending on your mood?” I ask breaking the silence. “Yes” Adam says as he looks up at me. “I have dark blue eyes when I am excited, regular blue when I am nervous, light blue when I am meeting other vampires and almost purple eyes when I am upset” Adam says while rubbing his hands together. “Why did you save me Adam?” I say out of nowhere but it’s the question I have had in my head ever since I was saved by him. Adam doesn’t say anything he just looks at me with those piercing blue eyes. “You’re different” Adam says with his manly sexy tone. “In all of my years that I have lived I never felt a strong feeling for a human. There were some humans that I did feel for but never as strong as you make me feel. Something about you draws me to you” Adam’s piercing blue eyes stare at me. “It takes every inch of my will not to be by your side, to feel your lips, your warmth and your touch” Adam’s tone has a hint of desperation.

“A good looking guy like you has a hard time finding someone?” I say kind of sarcastically. Adam looks at me “It’s not that simple Joe. You don’t know what’s out there” Adam says with a serious tone. “So how did you become a vampire?” I say while placing my head on my knees. Adam looks away for a while remembering when he was turned.

“I was with one of the first colonies to come to America. It was brutal but my family and I made it work. There were some disappearances a few months apart but people wondered off and got lost every day. One day my family got killed by Native Americans and I was struck by an arrow. The arrow pierced my heart and I was dying alongside my family. A man kneeled beside me his blue eyes staring into my brown ones. The man had short salt and pepper hair, a strong jaw line, a flawless face and was tall. He told me his name…Marcus. He told me that he has been watching me for a long time. He wanted to save me and offer me a second chance in life. That night Marcus turned me into a vampire. It was peaceful my body died but I kept on breathing. Marcus told me to feed in order to look like a human. Marcus only had to point to where my attackers went. Even though I was hungry for blood I still formed a plan to make my attackers suffer.

Death was just too quick for them I needed them to suffer more than anything. That night I took the tribes children and feed. I wasn’t alone Marcus brought some other vampires who helped me with the children. After feeding I went back and buried my father and mother. I spent the next few weeks listening to the cries of sorrow from the women of the tribe when they found the lifeless bodies of their children. The men were broken and wanted to hunt down whatever did this to their children. They hunted for weeks but never found any trace of their attackers. In the span of a week I took the women of the tribe. The men cried in sorrow after they found the bodies of their wives some even took their lives that day. A week later I came back to the tribe and finished off the men. I left the one who killed my family for last. I saw the fear in his eyes when I stood over him and fed on him.”

I look at Adam and his face is full of anger but then it softens and another expression comes across his face. “I never wanted to hurt that many people but at the time I was so hungry and angry for revenge that I didn’t think straight” Adam’s face is full of regret. “You didn’t mean it. It’s hard when someone looses their family” I say while I sit on the side of the chair and reach for Adam’s hands. I should have been scared of Adam’s story because I know what he’s capable of. But for some reason I felt sorry for him I just wanted to comfort him in any way I could. I guess I have a soft spot for monsters with regret. Adam looks up at me with his piercing blue eyes and half smiles at me. Adam then gently squeezes my hands a little. “So what happen afterwards?” I ask while moving next to Adam. I can’t explain it but I wasn’t afraid of Adam. Sure he can feed on me in any second drain me dry but I know he won’t. I was becoming more comfortable with Adam and that scared me but I also felt something else.

“Nothing happen I just joined Marcus covenant and have been there ever since” Adam says while looking down at our hands. Adam then starts to rub his fingers in between mine. Adam’s breathing becomes uneven but not loud almost as if he wanted to do something but he knows he can’t. “You never found anyone you liked?” I ask looking at Adam playing with our fingers. My heart beated faster as I was trying to fight every urge not to jump and kiss Adam. “No…not until now” Adam says with the manliest tone I have ever heard. My heart skipped a beat when he said it and my breathing became uneven. I was trying so hard not to get a hard on right here in front of Adam but its so hard not to.

Adam looks at me with those piercing blue eyes and smiles. “Can I show you something?” Adam says with a gently tone. I have to admit even though I was more comfortable with Adam I really wasn’t sure about him yet. All of a sudden we were heading up almost as if Adam was climbing something. It took maybe a few seconds until Adam came to a full stop. “Don’t peak” Adam says as he gently pulls me off of his back. Adam sits me down on something metal. Even though it’s summer the wind is pretty cold where ever we are. Adam then sits down behind me and wraps his big muscular arms around me. “Okay open them” Adam says close to my ear. I open my eyes, gasp and press myself back into Adam. We are at the tallest building of the city at the base of the large antenna on top. That explains the cold wind but it’s quickly faded in the warmth of Adam’s body. I look out into the city lights and it looks beautiful from this height. “Do you like it?” Adam asks next to my ear. I just nod as I take in the beautiful city lights all around us.

“It’s beautiful” I manage to say while pressing my body back against Adam. “You know I really didn’t expect a vampire to be so warm” I say while staring into the city lights below. “We can be warm if we want to” Adam says holding me a bit more tightly. I take my right hand and rub it back and forwards on Adam’s forearm. I can feel Adam’s breath becoming uneven again. “Sorry” I say while I stop rubbing Adam’s forearm. “Why are you sorry?” Adam asks with a puzzled tone. “It’s just that every time I get close to you, you seem to fight the urge” I say as if I know what I am talking about. Adam chuckles to himself and places his forehead on the side of my head. “I didn’t mean to give you the wrong impression but I just get so nervous every time you get close to me. I just don’t know what to do it’s like I am human again every time you’re near me” Adam whispers into my ear.

I chuckle to myself thinking that Adam is a hopeless romantic. “But don’t worry the only urge I have to fight off when I am with you is not kissing you” Adam says with the gentlest tone. “So why don’t you kiss me” I say turning my head so our eyes meet. “I am not just someone that will kiss you without your permission. I need you Joe and I will gladly wait until the day you need me too. I have been waiting for you for a long time. I don’t care if I have to wait for a little while longer. I’ll be here when you decide that you need me too” Adam’s tone couldn’t be more comforting. My heart beated faster as I looked into Adam’s eyes and I know he’s telling the truth.

The sun hits my face the next morning as I wake up. I find myself in my room of the house. I look around and see a note on a small cabinet next to the bed.

As I look around with squinting eyes I see there are no windows or doors in the room. A sudden fear begins to grip me as I think to myself that I am buried alive. Fear begins to take hold of me as I recall seeing the pale blond man in Adam’s house. The pale blond man has taken me hostage and Adam doesn’t have a clue he did it. Adam would think that I left without saying goodbye. What if Adam never finds me? The thought alone was enough for me to jump out of the stone bed and start looking for a way out.

I begin to scream for help but all I heard was my echo. It took about ten minutes before the helpless feeling started to set in. I then felt someone else in the room with me. I quickly turn around. What I saw next shook me to my core. I started shaking uncontrollably and my breathing became uneven almost to the point of passing out. My eyes widen as I saw the figure in the room with me. I saw my body in the stone bed as if my body was asleep. I kept asking myself the same question over and over again. AM I DEAD?
